So, it's been a while.  I've been sick, stressed, on leave due to losing a very close family member, etc.  It's been a rough few months.  In any case, I'm back on the saddle. There's lots of new content over at The Heaviest Matter of the Universe, so check it out if you haven't been in a while.

The newest thing I've published is a review of Crowbar's Sever The Wicked Hand, which you can find here: [link]

The battery in my D60 has shit the bed.  That's probably $50 or more I gotta spend to take pictures again!  CURSES!  and here I was hoping to get some other accessories first...

So, now that there's a chance the weather will be warmer for a while, hopefully I'll be able to get out and take some more pictures in the coming weeks, and actually upload some stuff to dA (if I get anything worthy).

Who knows, though.  It's a constant struggle trying to find time and places to take pictures and trying to get something worthy of posting as a deviation.

I'm not of the mindset that all pictures = photography.  Taking random pictures of crap with the automatic settings/flash on your crappy point-and-shoot isn't REALLY photography, and likely won't result in any interesting photos.  I'm trying to avoid posting that low-quality garbage here.  I want to only post pictures I think are half-decent, and I hope y'all appreciate it.

I need a flash.  I can't take decent concert photos without one, and it sucks.

Anyone wanna be really nice and buy me one as a late Christmas present or early birthday present?

(kidding, but if you really felt the need, I wouldn't be too upset)

The more I listen to quality hip-hop, the more I wish I was capable of being an emcee.

Speaking of quality Hip-Hop, check out the new Mixtape from Cause.  It's free, and it's killer:

I was looking through all the old garbage I used to write and post here.  MAN did I suck.  A lot.  I wrote a couple pieces that were bearable, but seriously, why the fuck did no one tell me?

Anyway, I feel the need to start writing again, so hopefully it will come out better this time.  My girlfriend and I made a pact that we would do more writing and critique each other, so I am excited.

I'm also working my way towards taking many more photos.  I'm still learning, so a lot of my photos suck pretty bad, but I can see myself making progress (which is always a plus).  Regardless, I enjoy it, and I promise I won't spam you guys with shitty "photography" from a point and shoot of crappy things like boring trees and shit unless it is a legit shot.  Nothing I hate more than people who call themselves photographers, but don't really understand it.  I don't mean to sound elitist or snobby (especially with no basis to legitimize these complaints), but at least I am making a concerned effort to improve my photography skills, and not just taking pictures and calling it photography, you know?

So, uh, that's about it, really.

Buying a new camera today.  Nikon D60 from a friend for pretty cheap.

Anyway, hopefully I will take outrageous amounts of pictures.

I am now working hard to move my blog over to a new domain, new host, and with a new look/build.

What I need are people who are fancy design peoples who can help me come up with some great visuals.  Want to do some freelance work (I'll pay,we can work something out).  Also, if you know someone who does quality work, put me in touch with them!

I won't be able to pay much (since I won't be asking much I can't imagine this being a problem), and I'm looking to have everything finished before September 1st.

So I guess I'm getting into pictures.  I took a bunch over the last weekend, and a bunch more today.  Still have yet to get them developed, though.

I'm working with (at the moment) a Canon EOS Rebel K2 with a Sigma DG 70-300mm lens.  It's nice, but a bit tricky at times considering I am still quite a beginner.

Hopefully I'll get some stuff up soon so you all can give it a look, and let me know what you think.

So, things are getting crazy around finals time.  But, I do not wish to talk about school.

I've been seriously thinking about getting a camera.  Not a shitty point-and-shoot one, but a decent entry-level "pro-sumer" camera.  Probably will go with the Canon EOS Rebel XTi or XSi, or a Nikon D50 (or whatever new model they roll out soon).  I can't wait to start snapping some awesome pics and posting them here on dA for you all to enjoy (hopefully you will enjoy them).

Hopefully I will get back to writing some stuff for dA as opposed to only writing for my metal blog, Munson's Metal Madness.  I'd love for you guys who might actually read this (all one or two of you) to go give it a peek and give me some feedback.

More classes all summer, then back to work with OurStage.  I can't wait to work with OurStage again.  This time I am writing blog posts and other editorial things, and will hopefully be getting some content on Noisecreep.com (AOL's metal blog).

Skateboarding and guitar playing are coming along, albeit slow and not so surely.

Yeah.  Life is crazy, but I am, for the most part, loving every second of it (finals suck, and are draining the life from me).

So, for the first time in a long time I'm finally content AND happy.

I have a new girl.  She's perfect.
I bought a guitar, and am finally getting a little more serious about learning.
I have been writing a TON, just not poetry and the like here on dA.
I have a great job.  Check out the website I work for: OurStage

Anyway, over and out for now.

Get at me!  I'd love to talk, whomever you might be.  IM at maniam3210 (that's my AIM)
